Monday July 29th and it was a record setting game too! Cleveland beat the Chicago White Socks 3 -2 with a solo walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth.
Well maybe a minor record but a record just the same, one that had previously been held for 37 years.
To end the game on Monday, Cleveland's Jason Giambi's hit a towering home run in the bottom of the ninth; he became the oldest player (at age 42) in Major League history to launch a walk-off home run to end a game. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Hank Aaron previously held that record with his game-winning shot off Texas' Steve Foucault on July 11, 1976.
You were witness to baseball history, an esoteric little slice of history, but history none the same.
This could be the start of an epic adventure coming your way on this trip.
